A great introduction of Margaret’s life and how she has overcome life issues which began in her childhood to present time. It’s an interesting yet emotional story yet similar to a woman’s Bible devotional book. Margaret outlines the Bible verses, the Holy Spirit, God that she has utilised to help her overcome her pain and suffering from her childhood, teenage years, adulthood, parenthood and dealing with the trauma and tragedy of the death of her son. She’s outlines Bible verses, prayers, fellowship and a personal Faith to help you through similar memories, thoughts and sufferings that she’s dealt with herself. Definitely a book for those who are suffering from childhood trauma and issues and the loss of family members whose passed on. A book that will be left on my bedside table to help me when I’m suffering from similar situations.

The Anxiety Skills Workbook is an ideal and simple CBT tool which helps suffers of anxiety, fear and worries utilising strategies in working towards mindfulness for anyone including children and teenagers.

The book is set out in sections that help you to have an understanding of how the workbook will help you and what you can do. The contents is fantastically arranged so you can go to the section that you need and are working on. The steps helps to focus and follow your journey of CBT and mindfulness by creating a goal plan, relaxation techniques, how you react to anxiety, how to change your way of thinking, your worrying including how to change behaviours and what you can do to accomplish and reset your goals if you regress backwards. Certainly a book to be kept on the bookshelf, parents helping their children with these new skills but including children, teenagers and adults with autism or ADHD. I found the workbook to help guide myself and my autistic children to calm their anxiety and worries.

Ideal book for those who found the book taming the anxiety gremlin.

5 stars

Soul Anatomy is set up for anyone and Christians who are feeling depressed, under the weather, anxious, sorrow even being happy and joyful and other emotional sufferings. The book is similar to self help and devotional to which this book is classed in the style of a biblical devotional commentary. Based upon the Psalms a songbook which is written to encourage those who are in need to understand their feelings and how the scripture and songs in the Psalms to help sort out their huge thoughts, emotions and feelings. The contents of the book lists the emotions and feelings which corresponds to the verses in the Psalms. The book is very helpful written similar to a commentary is the verses are explained then a section is based upon an emotional feelings which the verses interpreted to how the reader could be feeling at that point and how the verses will help the reader. Each section includes questions to ponder and reflect or as a group discussion. Ideal book to keep on the bookshelf or next to the Bible to study; great book for those who are feeling emotional and need some time with God to sort through the feelings.

5 stars

Set in Australia small town, a journalist and author Marlowe and co-creator of the Lily Foundation. Marlowe daughter of a police officer is interviewed by a past breakfast show hostess to talk about her book about Lily’s murder and the creation of the foundation. The interview brings forward flashbacks to Marlowe on her past hidden childhood memories including relationship with Lily, her father, and friends who help her to discover how and why Lily was murdered. A story full of mystery and thrilling twists and turns to which I found it extremely difficult to put the book down. Marlowe finds out what occurred, who’s involved and her hidden memories and secrets had her discover how involved she was in the hide and seek game of Catch Us the Foxes. A great thrilling book which is full of surprises recommended for readers who follow this genre of mystery and thriller.
