A feel good story bringing together three young women together in sisterhood during wartime in 1941 at a convalescent home in St Ives Cornwall. Lily a shy 18 year old just gone through some non-wartime trauma wishes to hide away from everything then decides to do her part for the war she goes to St Ives. Lily decided to work alongside with Eva her friend who went into nursing to nurse Max an American pilot back to health. Sister Rose is changing from holding her closed heart to becoming open and letting both Lily and Eva become friends with her. Rose not liking how orphans are being mistreated next door goes to find out what’s happening. Certainly a beautiful heartwarming story which details relationships and friendships the three Cornish girls are embracing during wartime.

Even with being a second book of a series Wartime with the Cornish Girls; it’s rather easy to pick up the story without reading the first book. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to read historical fiction- romance, wartime fiction- romance or womens fiction.

A bittersweet yet uplifting story based on a festive holiday read, to enchant readers who are looking at finding themselves, new friendships, love and family. Poppy is extremely thrilled as Christmas arrives but finds Christmas Day depressing for reasons unknown and she’s kept this a secret from her boyfriend George and their friends. George tips Poppy’s life upside down so when Poppy heard a choir sing the Twelve Days of Christmas she hatches a plan to win George’s heart back in twelve days. During the next few weeks Poppy begins to find herself while forming new friendships and relationships with the community church and choir. Poppy is determined that what she’s doing is for George with hope that he’ll notice what she’s doing and how she’s changing. The book at times has laugh out loud moments and moments of complete sadness and times of needing to shout out to Poppy to listen to her new friends and let someone in on who can help her. Great book for fans of a Christmas Rom Com…A great ending but leaves this reader wanting to spend more time with them all..

A emotional story called A Christmas at Gingerbread Falls bringing two couples together. Carrie and Braxton filming a Christmas movie at Gingerbread Falls brings them together as they play a very similar couple. It’s very strange to read two different yet similar stories in one book. I was riveted and couldn’t put the book down as I really needed to know on how the two couples supported each other through their struggles of dealing with their new relationship while suffering with emotional triggers regarding past trauma. The plot of the movie is very similar to their own emerging relationship as they overcome some hurdles and their secret hidden monsters. A story which tells about outbursts of emotional triggers and reactions from PTSD and how they need some help and support to gain insight to calm and soothe their emotions and feelings from a trigger. This book might trigger a reader who has similar PTSD these characters are suffering from. So if you have been triggered please call someone to talk about it. I have PTSD myself and I have not been triggered by reading their issues of trauma as I kept reminding myself it’s a story and it’s not my personal story.

Christmas at Hope Hall is certainly a book to read it’s inspiring, drama, story telling and emotional but not a tear jerker. A fiction for women young and old stories of old and new relationships, people who need friends, living alone, loss of loved ones, still healing from the loss and those suffering from traumatic situations from childhood or school are still impacting them and with the help from friendships created at Hope Hall give them the healing,  self-esteem, self-worth and positive empowerment to be brave to stand up to their bullies. Within the community is friendships and love for each other is great to see and makes a person to want and need to feel similar connections in their own life. A different type of fiction that a reader can connect with all the characters found within the community at Hope Hall. Even though I am a series reader and didn’t realise at first that this book is part of Hope Hall series I was able to understand who, what and why of the community and characters. I am now hooked and certainly will read the rest of the series. As the storyline impacts characters who are suffering, abused, hurt, emotional, lonely and has suffered loss of a loved one this book could cause similar emotions as you read the story. If it does cause you to be traumatised please seek help.
